Sean was an Olympian in 1992 (21st place finish). He won three back- to-back British Slalom titles as well as an Overall title and was ranked in the top 100 in the world. Over the last 20 years Sean has been a key figure in the Alpine world. He started the first Southern Hemisphere ski academy in New Zealand and has held head coaching positions with Team Canada and Team GB. As performance manager for GBS and Training Director for BASI he has also been responsible for shaping and creating the UK coaching and instructing pathways.
Having competed at the Olympics and on the World Cup circuit, Andy knows exactly what it takes to reach the top level. Internationally qualified in coaching and instructing, and previously having served as Head Coach for the British Children's Team he has been inspiring a generation of racers. In addition, Andy works as a BASI Trainer and examiner, but most importantly, he's a superdad of three racing rippers!
Meghan runs the U16 Team ATC Programme. Meghan grew up ski racing on the very competitive East Coast USA race circuit. After attending Gould Ski Academy in Maine USA, she turned her energy towards coaching (luckily for us). She is currently studying at Aberdeen University and for the past three seasons she has coached our weekend programme in Scotland and the ATC camps abroad year round. Her combination of technical knowledge, her angles, and personable pastoral care, make her a ski camp favourite.
Sofia will coach the ATC U14s group this year. Growing up racing in the French Pyrenees, Sofia raced for her French club and also represented Team GB at U14 and U16 level. Sofia is internationally qualified and has been immersed in coaching in New Zealand where she coaches a U12 race team. "I love helping people progress and sharing my passion for the sport, especially with children who are motivated to get faster and better.”
Lachlan grew up as a National U16s team racer on the British Ski Team. He has since been studying sports science at Uni, and qualifying as a ski coach, BASI instructor and personal fitness coach Lachlan’s shares his enthusiastic passion for skiing and his energy coaching with both our ATC U16 / U14s programme and in 2018/2019 with ATC’s China Olympic Team programme.
Adam coaches the ATC Royal Engineers Elite FIS programme. He currently doubles up his winters, coaching in New Zealand through the summer months and Europe during the winters. Adam is also an experienced boot fitter working with Alain Baxter at his shop in Scotland. As you would expect from a FIS coach when Adam is not on the hill coaching you’ll find him recording meticulous notes on his athletes or doing video debriefs.
Murray is a very experienced coach who can make progress with anyone at any level, while having a great time doing it. He has his BASI L4 Instructor and is a qualified coach. Murray currently heads up the ATC British Army (Royal Engineers Winter Sports) ski programme. In a very short time, Murray and the his coaching team have taken the Engineers all the way to becoming the Army Champions in 2017/18! In addition, he manages the ATC Braehead training sessions and ATC’s UK summer program. When not helping ATC racers, Murray runs his own ski school in Val d'Isère.
Racer/coach Calum Shepherd (19) has a great deal of coaching experience for his age. He grew up racing with ATC and gradually qualified as a coach and instructor over the last three years. Currently Calum studies in Edinburgh and shares his time between the books, coaching for ATC on weekends and Tuesday nights at Braehead, and 2 more nights a week at Hillend with LSR. AND His love for the sport keeps him competing at a national level, showing the wee rippers how it’s done.
Completing the father - son coaching team, Duncan (father of Calum Shepherd) has been coaching in Scotland for many years and has a great deal of experience; coaching weekly on the slopes of Aberdeen, weekends at Glenshee and occasionally Cairngorm, and on his holidays in the Alps. Duncan is also an accomplished golfer and masters ski racer, he has recently been coaching the ATC Under 12s team.
Cara is one of our British Champions! Currently a member of the British Team, Cara enjoys taking a little time out from racing to pass on some of her skills to our ATC young guns, as well as her philosophy of racing, mental tricks, and sharing her experiences of what it takes to go from club racing to Europa and World Cup. When Cara is not training, coaching, and skiing, she is the owner and designer of Corallina Swim wear.
Iain, “Britain’s brightest young skier” and British Champion, coaches with ATC when time allows from his rigorous racing schedule. Iain is a National level 2 coach certified and has already coached at several of our ATC camps over the past three years. A camp favourite, the kids look up to him and enjoy his action packed coaching style which is usually very entertaining as well as being full of hard work! Iain finds a balance of coaching and training during the summer months so you can expect to see him passing it forward, on the ATC camps from May to October.
We are very proud of Tabby who has graduated from ATC racer to ATC coach. Tabby has an infectious energy and you will rarely find her without a huge warm smile on her face, even on a bad weather day in Scotland. She is currently studying at Edinburgh University and coaches our Braehead Tuesdays and SSC club weekend training on Cairngorm.
Dave, from Aberdeen has been with ATC from the first camp in Limone Italy way back. Spending his early years racing with the Scottish Team he now works on our camps through the winter and offers a great deal of experience and motivation to his team.
Rosie joined the ATC coaching team last season and keptbusy with the ATC / SSC race training programme on Cairngorm. She also coached the Cairngorm Camps in February and April. Rosie is a Snowsport Scotland L2 coach.
