About the camp
15 December - 10 January (4 separate or combined weeks and 7 BASS races)
We are offering 4 weeks of training and racing at the ATC Academy base over Christmas and New Year. The resort of Bergeralm is one of the best race training venues in Austria. ATC will take full advantage of the great piste preparation and snow making facilities which guarantee us great training when other ski resorts struggle at this time of year. We have recently added a week 15-22 December and also added the option to join us from the 22nd December. There will still be the option to fly out on the 26th of December (accompanied flight). See below for details on the camp weeks, travel and BASS race options.
Training Week #1 15-22December
This is a great week for first time campers on it own or as part of a longer camp preparing for the BASS racing (Ambition) in early January. This is also an Academy week so we will be offering school tutoring and study time each day so bring some work with you! We will focus on technical skills in SL and GS this week. There may be the opportunity to train SG if the weather permits. We will work on putting together all the pre season preparation in to race practice. This means timed runs on full length courses. Off snow we will be conducting daily fitness and activities.
There is the opportunity for us to train SL and GS at night in Steinach. This is not only hugely beneficial in getting two sessions on those days but its also great fun! We have an evening meal on the mountain with the local Austrian club after training and then ski down the flood lit piste at the end of the evening.
Training Week #2 22-29 December
We will be celebrating Christmas this week will an evening meal on the mountain followed by a sledge run home and visit from Santa!
For those on week 1 we will continue working on what you are developing and slowly increasing the intensity of training. For those starting this week we will be building up to full length courses with timing and video. Skiing and training gates in Steinach at night under the lights is an amazing experience and one not to be missed. We should have at least two evening sessions this week finishing with a meal on the mountain.
Some of you will be arriving on the 26th December. Your coaches will ensure you have the technical time you need on snow and gradually build up in to race simulation. Evening time will be spent tuning skis under supervision of the coaches and in the evenings reviewing the video of the days' training.
Race week #3 29 December - 6 January (8 days)
The week will begin with three days race preparation including two night sessions. We will set off on the morning of the 2nd of January for Saalfelden where we will be based for the BASS races. There will be 4 days of race support at the Ambition BASS races from the 3-6 January. Our race support is suited for all racers wether this is the first race series or you are experienced challenging for the medals. GBR race entries and information can be found on www.gbski.com
Travel - ATC plan to travel on the 6th from the Ambition races and return to Munich on the 10th January for the return flight on the 6th January. This is a tight schedule and we plan to depart at 1pm following the last race.
SG RACE SERIES 6-10 january (3 Days)
This race series hosts a possible four races over the three days (7-9 January). These races are BASS seeded and include a SL and two SG. This is a great opportunity to get SG experience and points preparing for either the English Championships and the British Championships. GBR race entries and information can be found on www.gbski.com
Travel - ATC plan to travel on the 6th from the Ambition races and return to Munich on the 10th January for the return flight on the 6th January.
